Yes, there's some momentum for the PS4 carrying over from the holidays into a batch of new releases, including Dragon Quest Heroes. But saying that its baseline has been above 12k for the past two months isn't anything special because the holidays fell into that timeframe. Likewise, if the PS3 didn't see a new release in the week ending October 27th 2007, then the PS4 matching that right now isn't anything special either (October is a month like most others in Japan). If the PS4 overtakes the PS3 in launch-aligned sales at some point and shows the momentum to stay ahead, then you'll have a talking point. But right now you don't, because the surrounding circumstances are very similar for both consoles. The big exceptions are that gaming on dedicated devices is less popular nowadays (disadvantage for the PS4) and that the PS3 was more expensive (also a disadvantage for the PS4 because future sales boosts due to price cuts are most likely not as big as for the PS3). |
yeah the thing is though i think the ps4 will get much, much cheaper than the ps3 ever was while the ps3 was the main console and when ps4 never existed (before november 15, 2013, ps4's release date)
