Point is, Nintendo would throw it in for free. And if they don't, they'll actually give it a reasonable price.

You clearly have too much faith in Nintendo. If Nintendo would make you pay $60 for only one multiplayer mode, why on Earth would you think they'd be reasonable about more? Why would anyone even think they'd provide more in the first play when they clearly think that one is good enough for $60 already?
