It's standard here. They write it into the small print that although it's unlimited you're bound by "fair usage" whatever the hell that means. We complained and complained and complained and as soon as our contract was up we switched to BT. This is the package we're on: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=15764 Again they claim a "fair usage policy applies" but we asked them to define that before we signed up and it actually doesn't. (No I don't understand either.) We've been using them since last September with no hassle at all. My fiance's a professional photographer so he's constantly emailing very large files. He's a baseball fan and as you can't get much on UK TV he's signed up to some US package and watches it streamed over the internet. I do a bit of graphic design work so I often send large files too and I download a lot of stuff so if we don't have problems neither should 99% of other people. |
Man, that is completely bull****, If there's a "fair usage" which restrict the amount you use, then it should NEVER be called "UN-limited", I'd open a class action lawsuit, I believe a similar lawsuit in US against Comcast won and now they have to refund a lot of money.
It's like saying it's an unlimited buffet, but you only get to eat 2 servings.
Also, they clearly stated that they throttle your service.
