I get some of the griping, but I'm happier seeing them do what they want. Can feel it in each and every game they release.

Indeed. It seems like people who have gripes or looking into something to complain in those statements, are people who barely ever (if at all) played any ND games. 

Go figure.

I don't know about other people but I've played every Naughty Dog game they've made. Uncharted isn't mature imo and it's barely more mature than Jak 2 and 3. Mature in my book doesn't mean cartoon style to the game either.
