They are very secretive about their budgets so it's difficult to be sure.

 

Yeah that's true. Nintendo doesn't spend as much money in their games compared to other studios. But for the sake of the argument let says AAA Nintendo titles are the ones that cost Nintendo the most to make as of this generation including: 3D World, Zelda U, Xenoblade X, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros. U, and etc.

AA titles would be Yoshi Wooly World, Kirby's Rainbow Curse, and Captain Toad, and maybe the New Super Mario Bros. series

A titles and lower would be Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, etc

And lower would probably be their eshop games like NES Remix.

I'd argue Splatoon is a AA title unless it has more online multiplayer mode and the single player mode is 10 hour plus long.
