MS has slowed the slaughter and gained back a lot but has not been able to reverse the trend entirely(unless Amazon is wrong, which would be the biggest surprise of the gen) PS4's lineup for the next 6 months should provide another large gap increase over the XBO. I'm guessing PS4's gap coming into BF will be larger than last year but PS4 will have much more leeway for bigger discounts/bundles than before. |
Sony just needs to not let the X1 outsell the PS4 this holiday as much as it did last holidays. On top of having more exclusives, Sony has exclusive marketing with Battlefield: Hardline, Mortal Kombat X, and Batman: Arkham Knight. Microsoft does have exclusive marketing with Evolve and The Witcher III. However, Evolve has been quite under-the-radar and is also ridden with a lot of DLC. The Witcher III belongs to a genre that appeals more to the PS4 userbase than the X1 userbase (see Dragon Age: Inquisition).
