I much preferred the actual FF7 to Xenogears :p And in turn FF9 much more than 7. I'd take XG over FF8 any day though.

7, 8, and 9 are all great. They mark the golden era of Final Fantasy, but Gears was a freaking masterpiece so I'm going to have to disagree with all (but 8).
