To the best o f my knowledge a bible for halo already existed an Nylund was adapting it to novels. Joseph Staten is the primary name that comes up when it comes to Halo's primary development. He left Bungie after destiny to go back to Microsoft. He was originally with Bungie though before MS bought them.
