What you're describing sounds basically exactly the same as the 3DS, with just some minor improvements/changes (720p screen, digital only, etc.). In that regard, it makes sense that some of this would happen. My concern would be that this would not represent a true generational leap for Nintendo. Seems like this would just be another half-step (like the New 3DS is to the 3DS), and not a true full step in a new generation of handhelds.
