Affordable being the key word and I can't really see them putting one out that is the same value( or better than) what you can find an external drive on sale for. I actually really liked that they didn't make you use an "official" drive to increase storage. MS did that with the 360 (I think) and it was something like $120 USD for a 320 Gig drive which was a ridiculous price.
Not that you likely care but I spent about $170 bucks for a dual enclosure (with fan) and two 2 Terabyte drives for my Wii U. I can't see myself ever using that much but then again that's what I though about the 200 Gig drive I bought this set up to replace.
