| naznatips said: Sorry if this seems off-topic, but for those of you listing Fallout, are you actually fans of the franchise? Because most of us fans of the franchise (Rocketpig and I to name a couple) are about ready to murder Bethesda for what they are doing to it. It will barely even resemble what Fallout was before. |
I loved Fallout and Fallout 2, right along System Shock games, and this is why I fail at getting my hypemeter up for Fallout 3... By all means, I did like Oblivion (allthough Morrowind kicks its arse gameplay wise and there were tons of promised features that were nowhere to be seen) but the same recipe does not apply to all genres and projects equally well. I think they've blinded themselves to different programming approaches after TES IV finally brought the series into commercial success territory, and that could bite them in the ass right around the time Fallout 3 launches.
As long as they refrain from making an MMO, I won't complain, but I wish they'd keep TES simply, well TES, and the other franchises they're working and will be working on separate. Implementing the same engine or physics (very common among PC games after all) is one thing, copypasting entire conceptual bits is another and should be avoided imo (and in yours as well it seems).
