I think you can already download games to an external HDD and stream them from the Wii U, but this is probably the most likely thing they are going to do. Either package an official Nintendo HDD add-on or release a revised Wii U 'Deluxe' which has more storage space. Other than that, I can't really see anything being a solution to limited disk/HDD space... unless Nintendo plans on launching a cloud gaming service... heres hoping that never happens.
