There was a statement that WiiU becomes profitable with just one game sold per console a while back. If true, this doesn't really hurt them too much if at all. It must be a razor thin margin to begin with.
Dropping the gamepad is a bandaid. It won't help enough to make a difference at this point. They need to stop the droughts to keep momentum and market aggressively.
