But that's what I'm saying. If it's just "visual flair," then why hasn't that flair been used on fighters before, and why is it being used on next gen fighters now? This game looks much closer to SFV, MKX, and KI than it does to any of their last generation equivilants.

Because the Wii U is superior to last generation consoles, it will have better looking games at 720p 60fps.

The PS4/Xbone games obviously have better lighting, higher quality textures, and are rendered at 900p/1080p.. They are at a level above Pokken for those reasons. Pokken has much higher quality models, somewhat better textures, and more impressive effects than the 360/PS3 games. It fits perfectly fine with our knowledge of PS4/XBO, WIi U, and PS360's hardware. The Wii U's gpu has more features than the PS360's and more memory (higher quality textures.) That is what we see.
