I'm still guessing the new Factor5 game will either be a new Turrican title or a Wii version of Lair. They're comment that the engine does "everything the PS3 engine did and then some" sounds like they're simply modifying an engine used on a PS3 game, and the only one they have to choose from is Lair.

Factor5 is good at pushing graphical capabilities of a system, which is something the Wii needs. Someone to finally push it graphically. Factor5, however, does have a history with games not always having the best frame rates, though, which can be a side-effect of their graphical push.

They don't own the IP rights to Lair. Sony does, so no Lair for Wii.

That gives some legs to the rumor that Sony "forced" Factor5 to make the game controllable only with the SIXAXIS motion, then. Early reports indicated that the game could be controlled with a normal dual-analog controller. 1up.com, at one point, actually blamed Sony outright for "forcing Factor5 to make Lair controllable only with the motion-controls," and indicated that it was probably a last-minute implementation.  It wasn't in a normal article or the Lair review, I recall it being in an editorial of some sort.
