Sony and Nintendo brought this upon themselves when they released such limited function devices in 2011. At that point Apple and Google had already paved the way, put up signs, and installed flashing lights, pointing where the mobile device market was heading for a good 4 years.
All Sony and Nintendo had to do to strike it huge, was to release fully capable Smartphone versions of the Vita and 3DS. Had they done this both devices would easily have 5 - 10X the amount of sales they have now. Both companies lost trillions of dollars, because instead becoming the defacto platform like Google Play and the App Store, they are now not even worthy of the most simple software.
I hate to see the way things are going, but I don't lay any blame on EA for this. It is simply impossible to justify building games for a user base of ~50M people, when there is a user base of 1 Billion+ waiting to throw their money at you.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
