And which is why I say that Runescape has some of the best quests of any MMO. The first few, low entry quests are quick and painless but almost all of them tell an interesting story. They each have their own NPCs, some more important than others, they can't be done to "grind" skills cause while they offer good rewards, its never crazy amounts of exp and they aren't repeatable.

Once you get to the mid, experienced quests, a lot of story lines start to unravel, where its the origins of the Mahjarrat or the Dragonkin, etc and you are rewarded with unique weapons, locations, etc. It's mainly the reasons i come back to it for months at a time because the grandmaster (highest level quests) can be extremely challenging and interesting in terms of lore.

Also, there are no "kill 15 of these" quests. That's basically what the Slayer skill is for, killing a specific enemy multiple types for experience, rewards and good loot if your lucky. You are welcome to ignore that skill but it is a requirement for many quests.
