All that stuff where sony and microsoft make money on is free on both xbox live and PSN. Online game experience is what you pay for with Live. Actual online play... in game chatter...MSN messenger while playing a game...that costs $$$. Buying videos, games, movies...its free on xbox dude. |
That's just the thing though. Everyone that touts that XBL is SOOOO much better talk about how the marketplace is better, or that friends can invite you at anytime, or better communit, when PS fans talk about it being $50 a year. But X360 fans, at least most fo them, don't realize that those services ARE free, all with an XBL silver account. It's only when you drop that $50 that you can actually play games, and in that sense, XBL is no better than PSN, when comparing XBL's cost to PSN being free. That's all there is to it. If XBL were free, sure, I would concede and say it was better. But the fact that the $50 doesn't go to having a great integrated friends list, or being able to message, or having a great marketplace (because Silver users have that functionality), but rather is the fee to ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAMES ONLINE is the reason I and many others say it's not worth it to pay.
@Gebx
XBL doesn't have dedicated servers. Otherwise, you would have never had that fiasco over this past Christmas where Live went down, and no 360 users could play ANY games. Not one.
Another advantage of PSN ;)
