I'm glad I could inspire this post! (even if it was entirely unintentional)

I pretty much agree. This game really isn't like anything that I've seen, it just seems to borrow from many things and melt it all together as one competitive action experience, which is great. I remember a while back there was a thread about the lack of 3D games on the Wii U and Smash Bros. was cited as something that should've transitioned (which I totally disagree with, but I digress). Well, this can fill that hole. Now we have some sort of 3D action fighting whatever on the console, and it seems to look and play great. And it's Pokemon. It's a win-win-win...win.

Yeah, I remember that... One of the most idiotic posts I've read here, for sure. I don't necessarily think that Pokken "fills that hole," because I don't think there's really a hole to fill at all.

The most exciting thing is really that there aren't really games like this at all. At least none with the real potential to actually have a competitive scene behind it. That's very much like Pokemon. There's absolutely no turn based strategy game like Pokemon that is as big, competitively. None even comes close. If Pokken on the Wii U includes the adventure elements that draw people to the series in the first place, and continue to support the games with more and more characters, Pokemon could have yet another monumental competitive battle scene unlike anything else out there, while also being a fun single player game for casuals.

True. I guess I just mean for the people that do believe there is something missing, they surely shouldn't now.

I wonder if this will garner a fair amount of public interest. I mean, a mix of Tekken and Pokemon? This could easily interest both casual players and hardcore, competitive gamers and become a real pillar for both Nintendo and the Pokemon franchise. It's exciting, to say the least. I'm happy to see Nintendo putting so much focus on these types of games lately.
