If they were to do that then it shouldn't be difficult for someone else to take a fair chunk of the market by undercutting them even if their product was inferior. If it isn't really possible for anyone to compete with them anymore maybe that's because they are doing a good job and people are happy with it. The only places I think monopoly laws are really a good idea is on natural resources and stuff, because if someone has a monopoly on that then there really is no way for anyone else to compete. |
Microsoft isnt abusing their power because companies like Apple exist, and also because of Anti-trust laws which forced MS to break itself apart when they were sued by the government before. If Google created a rival os MS would go apeshit. They dont just have monopolistic goals for the OS industry but for living room OS driven entertainment( thanks to Sony excelling in videogames). Anywhere it exists, MS will go after it.
