Have you ever played a game, or game series, and wanted to play the sequel or spiritual sequel, but couldn't because it went exclusive to a console of a different brand that you didn't own?

A few guidelines/rules:

1.) It only counts if the console the sequel went to is of a different brand than the one you played it on.
2.) Spiritual successors count.
3.) Timed exclusives do not count.
4.) If the game was released for your console, but only in a language you can't read, that counts.
5.) Home consoles only.
6.) Post your console owning history, so people more easily can see where you're coming from.

As for me, two games come to mind.

Console history: NES > N64 > PS2 > PS3.

- Xenoblade. I was a big fan of the Xeno games on PS1 and PS2, so would have liked to play this one as well, but it went to Wii. Although the game's artistic style wasn't as appealing to me as Xenogears and Xenosaga, so it didn't bother me much, but if I had the chance I would have wanted to try it out.
- Tales of Vesperia. It did appear on PS3, but only in Japanese. But my Japanese isn't good enough to fully enjoy the game, so maybe I'll go back to it at some point in the future.

Xenoblade is technically different from Xenogears and Xenosaga. It's not a direct sequel, but I get what you are saying.

Residen Evil Revelations for the 3DS and Wii U. Now to be pretty much everything else lol. Not that worried about it though, it seems like a bit of a bastardization of the game anyway, not really a direct sequel. In many ways less than my preveious statement about Xeno, with the exception of the name.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
