Honestly I think the only things worth mentioning are producing more quality games through collabs and then getting the price down. At this point the Wii U is only looking to appeal to the core gamer audience who appreciate Nintendo IPs.
Everything else is fluff with where the Wii U is at now.
Edit: Actually the recapturing the casual market is quite interesting considering Nintendo never really tried that hard to begin with. We had Nintendo land, Wii U fit and Wii U play. We haven't seen much of the creativity of marketing that nintendo applied to the Wii... At the very minimum release Wii Sports 2 and then something interesting with the gamepad. I don't see any chance of miracles happen but it could give them a healthy boost.
