Well, it is possible if the x86 leap is large enough cause you have to get the x86 cpu to essentially emulate the wiiU's cpu (and a few other things) which takes quite a bit of horsepower to do so essentially, the console has to be as powerful if not more than the ps5/x2

The gamepad will probably have to work with it has well for the games that require it so they need whatever wireless tech is on the wiiU to be on their next console as well. But of course, they can sell the gamepad as an accessory so that it won't hog down the cost of the console

And the CPU on the 3ds is Arm so if their next handheld is also Arm, then it should be able to do backwards compatibility without too much of an issue
