Agreed. Though I actually believe they will be dropping it to $299 as early as E3 this year, but only if the PS4 wins every NPD between now and then. They will do this in anticipation of a possible PS4 price drop to $299 around October.
Them hitting that $299 price point early allows them further drop the price as another "promotion" around the end of the year without it seeming reactionary.
