They changed Zelda's formula even though TP sold 10m. Even financially, I don't think Nintendo can despute how much more money a Pokemon game like that would make. They know there's a demand for it. Literally every other interview, they are bombarded with questions like that. Fan project after fan project is made emulating the shadow of the exact same Pokemon game. People with no intrest in Pokemon always say that if a Pokemon game like that was made, they'd buy it right away. It's clearly a worth wile investment, and it's not like the games haven't gotten more expensive to make as it is.
