OT: For staying in the bounds of what the topic asks I would say Chrono Trigger hands down, multiple endings, very innovative battle system, epic story, never would have guessed it to be a SNES game it was something ahead of its time, though personally if Chrono Trigger is King then Earthbound is the Emperor, ruling all with style.
