It would make more sense if they'd partner with Nintendo in the handheld market worldwide, if anything. Your suggestion would create a weird situation and every game developed would need a team making a different version that's able to run on WiiU. That development and those resources would be wasted on Japan. Microsoft used to greenlight games to be made on GBA and early DS, wonder why that stopped, they haven't been invested in mobile for that long?
