Doubt they sold much. I voted for 40K anyway, even though I might have been too generous.
These first weeks in January are slow anyway, so this new price promotion is definitely not due to low sales, it's just a way to keep people interested. I doubt that the price will ever return to $399. MS did say this price drop is not permanent, but it will certainly last for a while.
