Nintendo shipped 1.95m last year, wii u is at 7.29m shipped as of 27th September!Sales of wii u have been significantly improved worldwide ,except Japan where they were considerably down! Nintendo if has't outshipped the same quarter last year,at least(worst scenario) they must have shipped the same amount! So 1.95m+7.29m=9.24m(SHIPPED AS OF 27TH DEC)...9.24m-8.9m(VGC)=324k on the shelves, pretty logical for wii u and even more than enough... |
WiiU had almost 100% sellthrough on that shipment and since I don't remember any adjustments for that and looking at Ps4 that was almost 1M overtracked (even when being undertracked at that period) makes me expect it...
About it being higher yoy for the quarter what non-vgc evidence do we have?
About units on shelves, you forgot there are also units between Nintendo warehouse and stores still travelling? So 500k on christmas wouldn't be impossible.
I think WiiU is around 8.5 and x1 10.5 but can't prove or disprove and since not Nintendo nor MS will show sold through (and ms probably will show mixed shipped) we can only speculate. But bishop hinted at X1 1M overtracked, do you think only WiiU was imune to vgc otimism on holidays? WiiU posted very merry numbers.
