I'd love to know what sales of Skylanders and Disney Infinity were over the same time period...

Skylanders sold over 30 million toys from launch in the fall of 2011 through the first quarter of 2012.  I think they've topped 200 million toys sold up to the end of 2014.  The franchise generated over $2 billion in revenue by the beginning of 2014.  I'm pretty sure that Infinity has similar numbers.

Amiibo is a drop in the bucket in comparison.

This is really where the problem sets in.  Will it turn into an actual revenue stream or will it be an occassional revenue hiccup when new figures release?  Does it have any real shot at growth?  Was the launch the high-water mark?  I'm kind of skeptical of Nintendo's strategy with Amiibo, to be honest, and I'm not sure it will catch on with anyone except die-hard Nintendo fans.  I think it needs its own thing besides being DLC for other games or it will struggle to find mass-market consumer appeal.

Skylanders was sold to a much bigger userbase.. And this is for 6 weeks..

And it "need" its own thing.. But do you in any way see a e3 2015 where Nintendo don't show that?
