It is a bit of a pain, but is the same true in Europe?

My store of choice of is often Game.co.uk and they have a nice new 3DS banner and this is the page for the white 3DS (which I may well get)

http://www.game.co.uk/en/the-new-nintendo-3ds-white-323707?pageSize=20&categoryIdentifier=819710&catGroupId=

No mention of an AC adaptor or not.

You have to go to the official Nintendo UK store and scroll down to see this

"Please note that the New Nintendo 3DS XL consoles do not come with a charger as standard. Adapters provided with the Nintendo 3DS, 2DS, DSi and DSi XL systems are compatible."

Note that I'm on the page for the new Nintendo 3DS....

Then if you do want a charger, you have to spend £20 from them and get it with a cradle. As a potential first time DS buyer, this does disappoint me, even if it doesn't surprise me

£20? You can get a 3ds party one for less than £5. I have a couple as backups for travelling and stuff.

And here is one for even cheaper on the Game.co.uk website http://www.game.co.uk/en/gameware-nintendo-3ds-xl-ac-adaptor-201780?pageSize=20&searchTerm=3ds%20charger&catGroupId=

That £20 is the price you have to pay from the official Nintendo store. I get that you can get them cheap, but personally I'd really prefer a 1st party one, don't really know why especially as I use any old usb cable to charge my phone...

My main point was that it has not been communicated clearly and can be confusing for first time buyers like myself
