They needed to make a unified system so they won't have to waste so much effort in production and sales. Then it would be all about producing face plates and people complaining about rare collectible faceplates and why doesn't the XL have face plates and the whole thing would become a mess. This way its just 2 colors and 2 collectors editions so far. But all on the same hardware. They already learned from the previous editions. 3DS didn't sell well after XL came out and the 8GB Wii U didn't sell well even though it was a cost efficient model. I think this is a lesson learned from the Wii U. |
