How was Galaxy revolutionary? It didn't start any sort of revolution in gaming. Innovative, yes. Revolutionary, no.

Only right answer is Halo. Not only was it the biggest reason for the Xbox selling as well as it did, without which there might not have been a 360, it also greatly boosted the popularity and playability of FPSes on consoles. Halo 2 was also one of the first big online console games.

This is basically exactly what I was going to say, so I'll just quote it instead of taking 5 minutes to slightly re-word the same thing.

I'm sure Galaxy was an amazing game (I never played it), but what exactly did it revolutionize? From the trailers and footage I've seen it just looks like Super Mario 64 with obviously way more going on and HD graphics. Did it really revolutionize the platformer genre? I don't get how it's winning this poll...besides bias.

I voted Halo. It revolutionized first person shooters on consoles. Being a guy that missed out on Goldeneye when it was new, and having played it for the first time a couple years ago...I have no idea how people enjoyed it back then...the control scheme gave me cancer. Thank God Halo and other games around that time figured out about the dual joystick method.

The other FPS games on consoles during that time were terrible, you have to give credit to Goldeneye 007 for being a great game despite only having 1 analogue stick. Also, Super Mario Galaxy isn't HD, but since Galaxy 2 will get ported to Wii U, it might become HD.

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531
