It's nice to see that someone other than myself is noticing this issue. I've intended to bring it up for a while now, but never actually got around to it.

The lack of inspiration found in Nintendo's spine art is alarming. For a company that has been widely praised for paying close attention to detail, they certainly mess up big time with this seemingly obvious opportunity to express their creativity and add another dimension of nostalgia to their titles.

Going down this path will end up harming Nintendo in the long run. Showing apathy towards something that is so simple, yet so detrimental, can only be viewed as laziness on their part to save themselves from going through the trouble of designing art that will stick with us forever, or as a cheap attempt to save money from ink consumption.


Now, all we can hope is for more people to pick up on this despicable trend. Perhaps one day Nintendo will listen.
