Animal Crossing or Wii Sports I guess. The Sims and Minecraft are good choices as well if PC counts.

Are you thinking innovative? Because the OP was thinking revolutionary.

OP acknowledges Super Mario Bros as the most revolutionary game ever, so I'm completely lost with what you're trying to say.

It is as far as the platforming genre was in its day. Animal Crossing and Wii Sports were not revolutionary, but rather innovative. Revolutions change the way the industry makes games within a small amount of time.

IE: Super Mario 64 revolutionized open world gaming prompting other games to follow.  Before that open world games already existed on PC. GTA 3 revolutionized what Super Mario 64 revolutionized a generation later.

Does this suffice for example? No one is following Wii Sports or Animal Crossing.

GTA 3 following this logic, since almost everything nowadays try to copy its openworld.

TLOUS does not come even close to that.
