I think the alternative is riskier. I agree the first prime is more appealing than the sequals, but they sure are better than other M.
Nintendo cant put miyamoto and the zelda team making metroid. The zelda team has Zelda to take care of, and miyamoto's team seems to be quite modestly sized at the moment. I would rather he made a new F-zero, because for that IP there isnt a Retro to save it.
