What it says. Nintendo's attitude with the Wii and the Wii U was that they should be building it for them and them exclusively, in their minds, if a 3rd party company wanted to get a game out for the Wii U it was entirely their problem, they expected 3rd party to give an unnecesary amount of effort into a simple port, they expected them to adapt to their rules, and for these companies to be forced to follow Nintendo's saying whenever Nintendo felt like doing something.
