I don't want Nintendo to die. I want them to turn into a development ONLY studio.

All you hardcore nintendo fans that praise them as innovative are completely wrong. In my opinion, the last good nintendo console was the SNES. When they refused to keep up with the times and switch to disks, they sealed their fate with the N64. Then the next 3 consoles were slightly cheaper than their competition-- but drastically underpowered hardware.

This last holiday season shows how Nintendo somehow thinks of themselves a the apple of gaming --- selling an overpriced product, aiming for profit per unit rather than quantity. I honestly considered purchasing the WiiU due to Nintendo's aim at family and kids games... but I cannot justify paying $300 for a device that has maybe 3 games that i would want to buy, and often cannot even run ports from the last generation properly.

My gaming dream is that the Xbox dies in flames, and Microsoft returns to PC / a gaming service; and that Sony and Nintendo also turn into gaming services. I absolutely LOATHE MS for their anti cross platform play stance, but I still want to be able to play "xbox exclusives" (PC also) with my friends without being forced into their hardware. Likewise, I want to be able to play sony and nintendo software on my personal choice of a machine.

PS: I mostly play consoles, but I'd prefer a gaming universe that all games play on all devices, with your choice of device -- IE a steam box only... or similiar future.
