Wait now I'm confused. What I meant to say was that I wouldn't really care if PS or Xbox exclusives were available everywhere.

Oh okay, I thought you responded to my first line cause thats where I said "you don't really care" and etc

But I don't really get why you responded to:

"Thats probably cause we get a thread about Nintendo going third party at least once or twice a month but we rarely get a thread about Sony or Microsoft going third party and of course, if we are going to talk about games being avaliable on every platform, than people should include that both Sony and Microsoft First party should also be avaliable in every platform including PC"

With

"Again: The whole industry is making money on the Playstation and Xbox, on the other hand only Nintendo is making money on the Wii U (3DS is another case, but with the shrinking dedicated handheld market I wouldn't be surprised if the situation there becomes similar to the Wii U situation) that is the crucial difference."

Cause the industry making money on PS/Xbox has almost nothing to do with people not making threads about Sony/Microsoft going third party vs Nintendo since the industry is making money on PC. So I am a bit confused as to why the Industry making money prevent people from making "Sony/Microsoft" going third party threads since the industry money topic is not really even touched up on the Nintendo going third party threads

OK, first I hope that we're on the same page that "going third party" means getting out of the hardware business, not just releasing your first party games everywhere.

If we're clear on that then I think that it's not that hard to understand, sure the industry is also making money on the PC, but there are still (tens of) millions of people that do not want to game on PC and instead go for a console and that's why I'm saying that there is less of a reason to call for MS or Sony to go third party (until the whole industry moves towards a streaming model) because all of these people now buying Xboxs/PSs, not for their exclusives but simply because they aren't interested in gaming on a PC, would possibly turn away from gaming if there were no consoles anymore, which would strip away huge revenue streams for all publishers.

Hope that somewhat clears this up.

You're actually on the same page with us then. I think we can agree that the current model (i.e. what they're doing with the Wii U) isn't very sustainable. But why the NIntendo fans believe that they should not go third party is that they see a future where Nintendo continues, fixes their issues and makes successful products again, whereas you seem to see that as unlikely or impossible. Why many NIntendo fans are even offended at suggestions for Nintendo to go third-party is that by sacrificing your independence and making your competition your bosses, you're suggesting that you, and your games are inferior. Think about it. NIntendo offers great games that only come on their consoles. Many people think they're retarded, childish rehashes that like any innovation and creativity. By putting their games on their competition, they are implying that yes, the naysayers were right. They'd be put in the sea of other games right there along with other companies. Other companies that have to use overpriced DLC, microtansactions and hidden user fees to make a profit while meeting the AAA development standards of the industry, and many people don't like these companies because of it. People are talking about physical and even digital becoming obsolete (especially for PS/Xbox) so there's that to take into consideration. It's a very different environment. Maybe it might be better but it's not that clear-cut.

I agree with you on the Xbox/PS bit (i like Playstation myself), but I'll play the devil's advocate here. Many PC gamers belive that if consoles ceased to exist, gamers would move to PC/mobile eventually as long as gaming stays a big a deal. Companies would save huge amounts of money not having to worry about porting their games, optimizing their games, advertising or otherwise worrying about other platforms. The focus put on these platforms would pressure them to be made more accessible (without the creation of an separate platform) and would greatly improve them as their markets would soar. Then there's also the idea that console gamers now would almost certainly be better served with the lower prices, mods, and customizability of PCs and the lower prices/potability/ multifunctional nature of phones and tablets, no matter how much they deny they would. (Actually, I find the suggestion to "give up your crappy consoles; you'll thank us later" quite narcissistic and rude, but you get the point).
