It's already annual, though there have been a few years here n there without a Pokemon game.

OT: I'm gonna say no because they've never remaked the third game, plus we've had Pokemon for 3 years in a row now so I think they'll be on break this year then release Z or X2/Y2 in 2016, then a new gen on their next handheld in 2017.

That seems likely and thats a good way to start a new handheld
