Yeah it definitely seems like their are some alterior motives involves but I think for most gamers this is a case where my enemies enemy is my friend. In other words I don't like the fact that this guy is playing this purely for his advantage but I dislike the thought of EA controlling the GTA franchise even more so I'm siding with the lesser of two evils =P
