I don't think people understand just how much money Nintendo and the other console makers get from hardware sales and where that money goes to. Has anyone ever noticed that most major 3rd party companies don't have more than 4 or 5 active series at a time. Now think about how many series Nintendo and Sony and Microsoft have going at once. Thats because the majority of their revenue comes from console sales meaning that they can be way more risky with their IPs. Having 1 or 2 big budget series that consistantly sell 1 million copies or less with every release would give EA a heart attack console makers on the other hand could care less. There's a reason Nintendo was willing to fund bayonetta 2 but no 3rd party would
