Take a giant risk with the Wii profits and release a console more advanced than the competition. This will make the zomg power seekers flock and in turn encourage third party support. Ninty fans will flock regardless. Then when a steady stream of third party games show up with better performance, other gamers may consider.

Could this work, absolutely. Will it happen...not likely.
