I say they keep on doing what they've been doing. However, they haven't kept up with their quotas necessarily as having mature games being on their platform, since those developers of mature games (i'm looking at you, Ubi) abandon the Wii U.

I would namely put up early mistakes that happened to the 3DS game drought soon after it released. Nintendo didn't learn its lesson with the 3DS and put the Wii U at risk for the first year where it would have had the biggest impact on the next-gen gaming. Went downhill with major third-party development after that.

This next console will still have the purpose of the Wii U's target audience - great Nintendo casuals, as well as increased third-party support for mature titles on other platforms. Nintendo just needs to do it more efficiently. It will probably be a question of power and setting the console's specs to the eyes of the third-party devs.
