I only just started playing it. I was a big fan of the original and played it on my bros PS3. I skipped LBP2 because the PS3 broke before I could play it much.
so far, I've only played some of the story & it's quite good. The new layers and items / weapons they added are pretty neat. I can definitely see the community making some awesome levels 
I can't give my full opinion yet though
