I did say nintendo-published titles, rules out shovel knight.

Metacritic is bullshit, if you live your life judging games by what other people say about them, then you arent gonna play some of the best games out there.

Mario maker - not a new ip since it's mario.

My point is - New IP's sell consoles, or atleast generate a REASON to buy a console over another.

And you're blind if you cant see that. "basically dead souls 3" Well then battlefield is basically cod, and EA sports tennis is basically virtua tennis.

People, not like you, more like me, when they see mario on yet another title, are put off.
Cause some people really want new experiences.
New worlds new characters.

Two of the biggest selling games this gen have been new ip's. Watch_Dogs and Destiny.

It's the reason wii u is failing and will continue to fail if nintendo just publishes 'mario sequels' from wii, ds, nes, n64 era etc.

Driveclub didnt review well. People still bought it, a lot of people bought it.
Why? Cause it's a new experience. A new title that offers something new rather than an updated version of an old game.

Games dont have to be 90+ on metacritic to be good.

Open your eyes. As a wii u fan, you need to accept it. Because it's the only way nintendo will accept it and change their business for the better.
They need to start creating new worlds in their own studio, and partner with smaller studios to publish their new worlds.

if you think the problem is with mario, and not the console launch/market positioning, then you're misguided.

mario sold 11m copies of galaxy, 8m copies of galaxy 2, 30+m copies of mario kart, 12+m copies of ssb brawl... let's not kid ourselves. in the list of bestselling franchises, the top five let's say, pokémon, mario and company are at the very top. the only series that comes close is grand theft auto. but this is no longer relevant to the topic, you're just grinding your axe at this point. watch dogs was a p.o.s., and so was destiny. reviews confirm as much. that's certainly not in dispute. and the best part is the dlc for both reviewed even worse, whereas the dlc for mk8 got the same scores as the whole game.

i'm not going to continue this argument, because it's not one worth having.
