You know we need something from nintendo that is on the scale of Zelda, without actually being called zelda or mario.

Yes make zelda games, and mario, but make those interesting new big games throughout.

There arent many significant new ip's from Nintendo which I look at and say "Whoa thats something new - I need that"
Splatoon looks fun, but it doesnt make me scream "I need that in my life now"

But look at Sony, if we are talking about news ip's which have generated interest - "Bloodborne, Order" are just the beginning of a large list of sony published titles, so much more if you think of third party sony-published titles like david jaffe's game, tomorrow children etc.

and all while still making their old ip's like uncharted, infamous and god of war. That balance of new and classic is what has made sony race ahead, and nintendo fart behind.

I think they need more western devs to work on new stuff. They do develop new stuff from Japan but alot of its falls under th cute/quircky territory (Wonderful 101, Splatoon). Thats cool and splatoon might evolve into a big franchise but we need another Rare to produce stuff like Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, action/sport simulators and produce games that aren't afraid to compete with Mario like Banjo, Diddy Kong racing.
