The guy from AMD is talking about the handheld market in general, not a Nintendo handheld specifically. Basically he's using the 3DS as an example that the handheld console market isn't dead, he's right about that. I'm sure AMD will partner up with Nintendo for their next handheld and I'm sure Nintendo would consider an APU for their next handheld as it would simplify manufacturing and help to keep costs low, but I think Nintendo's next handheld won't be finalized until 2017 at the earliest, along with their next home console. Sony just seems the more logical company to release a handheld around 2016. |
It isn't going to be released in 2016, just revealed. That's a 6 year cycle for the 3DS, which seems reasanable. And why would Sony need to make another handheld?
