What are you basing that on? Not all them superhero movies were great, but so far Marvel movies are on a roll. Same goes with Dark Knight and Man of Steel. The bad superhero movies are flops anyway, and they were in the past. X-men First class and the sequel? Great films.

I've never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy until the movie, and as it turned out the movie was spectacular. Great characters and development, although the guy playing Drax needs a lot of improvement. If they can keep the tempo then by all means I'd love to see all the other no-names in the big screen.

I'm basing it on viewership polls and the amount of money these generic, big-budget, summer blockbuster superhero movies rake in.

I'll agree that some are pretty good, but the "Hollywood is running out of ideas" mindset is completely clear when superhero movies are the "in" thing to make.

Also, Man of Steel didn't flop.

That's kind of an illusion. Yes, superheroes are the "in" thing . The thing is Marvel Studios is putting out most of the superhero movies. Pretty soon it'll be Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. Out of all the film companies in Hollywood, hardly anyone other than those two are making superhero movies. Compared to everything else that comes out, there really aren't that many of them. It's just that they get more press and make more money than most movies. That's why people seem to think "everybody's jumping on the superhero bandwagon" but they're not. The truth is they can't.
