This sums it up pretty well. Nintendo and Microsoft made poor business decisions and Sony avoided all the design and PR pitfalls that continue to haunt Wii U and Xbox One, respectively. The huge number of PS4 units sold continues to boggle my mind, but it's easy to see why Sony is winning the so-called console war.

So they won by making smart decisions? Like every other winning console in history.

Isn't that a truism?

I think the value of this article is that it offers a more comprehensive and nuanced analysis of the situation.
